Estes Drive In in Lincoln, MO, fits comfortably into the classic American roadside diner scene, blending a fast-food rhythm with some diner-style heartiness. It’s a straightforward spot where families, road-trippers, and locals alike drop in for a quick, familiar meal or to grab one of those ice cream treats that clearly draw crowds across all ages. The atmosphere is casual and no-frills, with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating that works well for sunny afternoons or laid-back evenings.

What stands out here is the menu variety, offering everything from straightforward burgers and hot dogs to more regionally appreciated items like the pork tenderloin sandwich and fried pickle spears. The hand-breaded tenderloin, in particular, feels like the sort of made-to-order dish that distances Estes from the usual frozen fast food options, giving it a home-cooked vibe. Sides such as homemade chips and fries round out those hefty combos, making it a solid choice for anyone looking to settle in with a hearty, casual meal.

Ice cream is a recurring highlight and a bit of a local draw, with strawberry sundaes and marshmallow sundaes often mentioned as refreshingly simple but well-executed treats. It’s the kind of dessert that attracts smiling kids and seniors alike, suggesting this place doubles as a communal hangout where simple pleasures anchor the experience.

The staff keeps a brisk pace even when busy, and the friendly, familiar service adds a welcoming layer to the otherwise bustling environment. Lines at peak times signal both popularity and efficient turnover, so visiting just before or after prime meal times might provide a more relaxed experience.

Estes Drive In is best suited for anyone craving traditional American fast food served with a bit of local charm—a stop that’s particularly rewarding on a drive through Lincoln or en route to the Missouri lakes. Visitors who value easygoing vibes, recognizable favorites cooked fresh, and casual outdoor dining spots will likely find themselves right at home here.

Big menu, family friendly, good seating inside and outside, workers remember you and are all working hard to serve you as fast as they can. The best thing on the menu, which goes without saying, is the ice cream that melts in your mouth and is so tasty. Have watched the people come and go from kids to senior citizens with those ice cream cones making them smile and laugh. Worth checking into. You won't regret it.

Nice little burger shack! Menu is bigger then I expected. Food was good, decent prices. The young ladies working were awesome, so busy but still very friendly and efficient. If there is a line then you know the food is good!

This is a must stop place when traveling to the lakes. The workers are nice. Freshly cooked to order. Food is amazing! The tenderloin tasted handbreaded (not frozen from a truck) and delicious. Double cheeseburger was a great change from the commercial chains. The chocolate malt took me back to yesteryear!

They have the best BLT. The pepper jack balls are phenomenal! The burgers have a home cooked feel. The workers are always busting their butts to make sure orders are fast and exact. Great place. Prices are perfect.

Delicious food on our way to the lake. It’s hard to find corn nuggets anymore and I was ecstatic. Tenderloin and burgers were good. Can’t go wrong with a malt either! Nice to see a local diner staying affordable.

Saw this place taking my friend back home. We only got ice cream & didn't think to take a picture of them. But the food smelled good. A lady waited on us & she made us feel very welcome! The atmosphere was calm, fun, at home. I plan going south again this year. And I plan on stopping back by to taste their food.
